DUALIDY

WHO IS STEPHEN DEWANE?
It’s rare that a new artist is able to quickly establish a unique space within this industry but that’s exactly what spiritual soul artist Stephen Dewane has managed to do.
Hailing from the deep south, Dewane was initially raised by both his grandmothers on music that included all the gospel, soul, blues, and R&B greats. However, it was the eventual introduction to neo-soul music by his mother that ultimately sparked his interest in becoming an artist. “For the first time I actually saw myself in the music instead of just simply admiring it,” he says. As a budding creative and “life-long student of the universe", he slowly began discovering a knack for writing in the form of short stories, poems, and lyrics.
His first string of singles showcase quite an impressive skill set ~ from the fluid, feel-good melodies featured in tracks like “Generation” and “Glo Girl” to the super transparent and universally relatable lyrics in "Dear Lord". With a unique vocal timbre and an equally impressive pen, Dewane continues to reveal just how many more tools he has on his musical toolbelt.
Dewane believes wholeheartedly that music is one of the most powerful gifts from God. Most of his songs contain themes centered around love, exploration, self-development, and spirituality. When writing, he prefers to focus on how he makes people feel. “I love to make women feel sexy, seen, heard, and understood… but I also feel a responsibility to represent the modern man of God — with masculinity that’s rooted in genuine love, protection, obedience and grace. Overall, Stephen Dewane hopes his music will inspire people to not only love more but to love better.
